DO: Stop playing when you see that your luck isn’t turning for you. Although it is possible for the wheel to eventually turn back your way, it is important to know when to quit. Quitting doesn’t mean you are a loser. Quitting in certain situations is the wisest decision you can make. Sometimes you are better off counting your losses and trying again at a later time. Sometimes taking a short break will suffice to calm down and regain your forces for the next game. Going out for a walk, having a drink, taking a small nap, or watching a movie- anything that will get your mind off your immediate losses is good. However, there are those times when a short break just isn’t enough. Sometimes the losses have been going on for so long you can’t remember when the last time you won was. In these cases, taking a longer break is sometimes necessary. Estimating the amount of time you have been losing and taking the same amount of a break is a good idea. This time something like a vacation from gambling is the way to go. If you can afford to take a real vacation say to a beach somewhere or maybe some other exotic location then that is wonderful but if you can not then just take it easy for a few days and don’t even think of the game or how much you lost.

DON’T: Be a sore loser. Nobody likes a person who can’t handle a loss. When gambling there is always the chance that you might lose, the fact is that it is ultimately inevitable. You see, casinos (no matter if they are land based or online) are designed to have the upper hand on their gamblers so eventually the house is going to have to win. Having a loss has nothing to do with your self worth or your inner capabilities as a human being. So don’t be hard on yourself and don’t be hard on your friends and family. They have nothing to do with your loss and should not have to suffer from your anger. Gambling should never be so serious that it affects your life. This is a game that is supposed to be fun so you should try to take it easy.
